My goal is to give my students the opportunity to strengthen 21st Century skills like problem solving, team work, and perseverance, having hands on experiences conducting investigations and recording data using STEM kits. These materials will make a difference by helping my ELL students meet the AZ Science State Standards. Students will use these STEM kits to conduct investigations and gather data that they will then communicate in their results. As second language learners, they will be exposed to STEM content as well as acquire language skills. Students will also be exposed to possible college careers around the STEM based activities. It will also give my students the opportunity to build their science vocabulary and use reading strategies to comprehend scientific texts.
