My students need books on their grade level. Many of my students don't have access to our public libraries. I want to make sure that our classroom is full of rich literature on their grade level. As a new teacher to third grade, it was like starting my classroom library all over. My books were geared towards my kindergartners. I gave many of my books to local daycare facilities that would benefit more. These books that I am requesting will start my library off just right for my third graders. They have to be lifelong readers in order to be productive citizens in life. The other supplies, like the laminator pack, pencil sharpener, and dry erase markers, will add to the learning experience in my class.
