iPds for students with severe and profound disabilities provide multiple benefits. An iPad can be used as a communication tool, a tool to practice skills, a tool to provide work on leisure skills and as a tool to engage with non-disabled peers at the same level. For some students, an iPad provides an opportunity for independence. Touching a screen and making something happen may be a monumental accomplishment for a student with limited movement or limited visual ability. Imagine being able to play a simple game or watch a video by yourself for the first time in your life. An iPad can mean freedom for a student with severe disabilities. We are requesting for an iPad for my students in order to try and bridge the gap in their education.
