My goal is for my students to take ownership in their learning and to be given choices. I have seen the benefit from flexible seating in the classroom environment. I would absolutely love to be able to give my students this opportunity and switch from our basic desks to tables and flexible seating options. During independent time in math, students constantly ask if they may move to a different spot in the room or to sit on the floor. I know that they would benefit greatly from using seating such as wobble chairs and ab balls and having an activity table. I also would love to start doing STEM promoted activities in our classroom. The magnetic blocks, interlocking pieces, straws and connectors, stick-bot game, and IQ game are all manipulatives that would be amazing options to provide students with 21st century, hands-on learning and allow chances for independent learning and discovery.
