Most of my students, grades K-5, really enjoy learning science and the key to this enjoyment is to make science fun. If the learning activities are interesting and fun, they come away from my class with a much better attitude towards science and a better understanding of it. That is why I became really excited about the possibility of having these Lakeshore Building Brick STEM Challenge Kits in my classroom. I feel that the featured STEM building activities would be just the thing to engage my third graders and give them an active role in creating their own understanding of simple machines. With first graders, it takes a little bit more effort to engage them and the current learning activity that I have to help them learn about simple machines is not as engaging as it needs
