I am a chemistry teacher struggling to inspire my students with a wonderful science. I see students that are unmotivated by the grind that is a traditional public school. I want to provide my students with an opportunity to learn chemistry through one of the oldest forms of teaching, storytelling. I am trying to build an in-class library that my students can check out and return at any time during my class in order to show them real-world applications where chemistry played a vital role regardless of a classroom setting. Storytelling is the oldest form of education, and I want to bring the method to the complex subject of chemistry. Imagine learning radiation and radioactive decay through the lenses of WWII scientists. Imagine learning chemistry as you cook a meal at home from a chemistry themed cookbook. Imagine learning chemistry through some of the world's most historic moments. I want to provide an opportunity for my students to break the textbook and take control of their education in an age of limitless information.
