My students love to create music. My classes are very hands on and they are able to experience a wide variety of musical activities. When students walk into my classroom they are greeted with a warm smile, and a challenge. We start each class out with a sight-singing exercise that focuses on reading and singing rhythms and pitches. What you can expect next are activities such as playing ukuleles as a group, bouncing basketballs in unison rhythms to various songs, playing drums, boomwhakers, and singing a variety of repertoire together. My classes are all about teamwork and learning about how each student is valuable to the whole of the class. By working on ensemble playing, they not only learn important musical concepts, but also learn how to produce something amazing by working as a team.
