Children need to move!! I am looking to incorporate 19 bouncy bands for every student's desk during whole group instruction. Last year, I purchased two bouncy bands myself to test in my classroom. All students have enjoyed using them, not just those students that need a fidget device. I have seen great improvement from those students that like to wiggle or need to move, but it has also helped the students that have anxiety during a test, or are easily frustrated by independent work.
I want to ensure that positive movement is encouraged to release excess energy in our classroom, without the fear of disruption.
Bouncy bands are great for allowing students to release energy without the distraction. We move around a lot throughout the day, but there are parts of day in which they need to sit at their desk. Allowing their bodies to move in a productive way, while at their desk, will help both their physical and learning needs to be better served while being in the classroom. Please help me encourage my students to be active. Being active equals being healthy! Thank you!
