These materials will make a difference by providing multi-sensory lessons that aide in high student interest during intervention lessons for dyslexia. For example, students actually build and learn new words with letter tiles instead of only the traditional pen and paper method. My students are able to practice writing, an area where dyslexics struggle, with a variety of instructional methods using the tiles, white boards, games, and other manipulatives. Dyslexia intervention lessons make a profound impact on student success across the curriculum. After all, reading is required in all subject areas whether a math word problem, or science experiment. Students receive intense small group intervention that they would not otherwise benefit from in a whole group classroom setting.
