All students, regardless of their reading level, deserve to be exposed to high interest and real life issues in literature. I plan to have book groups within my classroom to foster discussion and collaboration on topics that we have faced in the past and are currently facing at the present time. One powerful way to engage reluctant readers is to allow them choice of what to read, and giving them ownership of their own learning. All readers deserve to have high interest choices in the novels in the classroom. Thank you!!!
