We have Chromebooks, Kindles, educational video games, and online books. What happened to the touch, feel, and love of a real book. The joy of choosing that one book off the shelf that you can't wait to read. It is ENDANGERED! Bring the love of reading back into the classroom. Make it great! I want my students to look forward to the last 30 minutes of class to find that comfy spot and just READ. We need books that are their level and that they enjoy reading. Diary of a Wimpy Kid, Dork Diaries, Captain Underpants, My Weird School Books are favorites in my classroom. From flexible seating to an array of books that bring smiles to the faces in my class. It's all about the library and the giddiness of getting to read that book you heard about but couldn't put your hands on or mom wouldn't buy it. Let's bring back the JOY OF READING!
