My students need supplies and materials to enhance their everyday learning environment so that they can be their very best. Hands-on materials allow children to interact with each other and experience things they wouldn't outside the classroom. I would like to have a doll set for children to be able to pretend and show how to care and nurture. A gear builder set and log builder set are hands-on materials that will allow children to explore and create. A tub of cars and trucks will be added to our block area. I would also like a variety of construction paper as well as glue sticks for the art center so that the students can create more projects to display.
Most of the students are from low-income families and these supplies would mean a great deal. These learning station materials will be beneficial to students because they will provide the opportunity to explore and discover. Learning to share and work with others is very important at this age. I want to provide an environment that encourages caring and sharing. Children learn from each other just as they would from an adult so the classroom environment plays a major role in their education.
