Sustained reading and writing has been a challenge for my students. Many of my students see reading and writing as a chore. For most of them, the only time they are asked to read is at school. This year, it is my hope to create a more comfortable and relaxed classroom environment for my students. Many of my students come to me not having a love for reading and writing. I am looking to change the narrative. I am seeking to develop a generation of students who would love to express themselves with through writing and have a love for reading. When students are comfortable they will be able to focus longer in readers and writers workshop.
