In our classroom, station work and centers are crucial for the students to not only practice the skills being taught, but to allow for 1:1 instruction time with me at my table. Guided reading time is essential to developing their literacy skills and keeping them engaged in their independent practice is extremely important. By donating to our project, you will be helping my students practice their reading skills with hands-on activities while allowing me to focus on increasing their academic achievement! My students are over 50% English Language Learners. Having the LeapStart Interactive System not only keeps them engaged in their learning, but also builds vocabulary while giving explicit instructions for tasks. The system will be used in a station for the students to work on independently as they rotate through their daily centers. Because the system reads aloud to the students while they are practicing essential Kindergarten skills and standards, it frees me up as a teacher to work with the students in a small group setting.
