If funded, this project will add to the culturally rich environment where students will be able to work collaboratively to grow and enrich skills. The classroom is set up for a blended-learning environment, with seating choices on the floor and other areas in the room. The carpet will provide the scholars with an area to gather on the floor where they can come to think and defend their ideas in a Number Talk discussion. The scholars will also gather on the carpet for Morning Meetings to address social-emotional needs, and places for videos and other whole-group activities. Once scholars are able to work independently, the learning environment needs to be conducive to everyone's needs. So, the wobble chairs will add to the environment by providing choice in seating. There will be spots on the carpet, in regular chairs, and the wobble chairs. Set up in various groups to create a comfortable, welcoming, environment.
