The students I teach have been exposed to indoor and outdoor physical education. As their instructor, I would like to allow them to see the difference in performance in indoor and outdoor physical education. This includes different ways of recording data and also creating charts in order to compare and contrast the data we collect. We focus on academic integration through incorporating core subjects into Exploration learning environments. Pedometers will allow students to see the implications their performance is having on their heart rate. In my classroom, we celebrate our success when we meet our fitness goals. With pedometers, not only can we see the progress we are making, but we can track our progress. This will help teach one of the core values in our mission statement, "we cultivate to sustain."
