There is nothing more exciting for students than playing real instruments. We are requesting a class set of melodicas that will allow students to see and feel the way music works. The keyboard is a natural visual representation of music and the melodica requires enough human power to make students feel connected. With enough melodica's to cover a class, and enough extra tubing, I think I can unlock student creativity and have fully functional composers by the 6th grade. This is the kind of tool that wasn't offered in my youth that I think could have made music much easier to understand. Ultimately, we can raise a generation to think of music as more than something they can buy online. Music can be a part of their existence for the rest of their lives.

About my class
