More than half of my students come from low-income households and can not or will not participate in traditional sports. Purchasing 3 kayaks will be a great beginning in providing students with an alternative activity and learning environment.These students will benefit from alternative educational and athletic opportunities. These trips will provide students with educational activities through exploration and hands-on science discovery. We will take the kayaks onto the local waters surrounding our community. These trips will provide opportunities to engage students in outdoor learning and to make friendships otherwise not available. We will leave the brick and mortar building outside of school hours and learn about the world and resources around our community.

About my class
