These wonderful additions to our very basic classroom library will bring enthusiasm and joy to reading, feeding their minds beyond our walls. Without an array of highly engaging texts, it is impossible to teach reading workshop, that asks that students apply what I model in one text to their own independent reading books. My students vary in abilities and a such I need high & low level books on various topics that would engage my students in different ways. Right now we have tattered, yellowed books from the 1960s that do not hook my readers. They really judge books by their covers!
