I teach Kindergarten in a Title 1 District. The students I teach are from a low-income background. Our students deserve the best education possible with reinforcements to help them gain necessary skills and achieve academic success. The students I work with are lacking phonemic skills and would benefit from a secondary supplement within the classroom to aide their individual academic growth. The students will enjoy acquiring additional language skills through listening to these stories told to them. I know this listening center will be used throughout our daily activities. I plan on using the calendar math center to improve pattern, date, and numerical counting skills. The all about letters pocket chart will aid in letter/sound recognition. Our creativity will flourish with the use of ink pads, glitter, collage buttons, and pom poms during hands on learning. The mini stumpers will be a part of my positive reinforcement throughout the school day. My small group time will benefit from the write and wipe pockets improving the students handwriting skills through letter and number tracing. I feel all the supplies I've requested will help to make learning enjoyable for all my students!
