The doorway between the mind and body is being able to identify your emotions, recognize triggers, and learning how to self-advocate to seek positive tools to help regulate so that you can concentrate on the school work in reading, writing, and math. In this project students use the Ultimate Ears portable speaker to hear calming sounds and practicing belly breathing in a small group setting. Students will learn positive strategies to self-soothe by listening to stories, playing games, and learning to use sensory tools. Applying learned skills and coping techniques to self-regulate in the whole group setting would be our goal.
