To create a culture of reading for enjoyment and learning my students must be provided with a variety of themes and multiple copies of books. We only visit the school library one time a week for 15 minutes...that is not enough time for my students to make a quality book choice. My goal is to build my classroom library so that the ratio is 30:1 students will have free choice and multiple copies will be available. Students can not learn to love reading if they are constantly presented with the same book titles or are rushed to make a choice.
