I am requesting the novel Timebound for my students to read. Timebound by Rysa Walker will provide students with the opportunity to look into the future. Students will be engaging in literature that combines Science Fiction, science, and history, into a fun and fast paced English 9 classroom. Since using technology is the main focus of the class, we will be using Chromebooks to write and film about this amazing story. We will write through online discussion posts. We will film through re-enactments of the story. I want students to develop a passion for reading. The first step is to get a novel that provides them with a different outlook on life. What I mean by this is, the main character and narrator of the novel is a teen female. She is strong, independent and resilient. Teaching students those themes will allow them to connect with a character living in more modern times.
