Letter writing is an art that many students are able to enjoy for the rest of their lives. From birthday cards to letters to a pen pal, letter writing is a stable writing process that students will continue to use. My students love receiving letters and I believe by giving them the right resources, they will love giving letters as well. Using the requested pens, envelopes, greeting cards, and wax seals, my students will be able to go through the entire writing process to write a well-written letter to a favorite novel character.
My students need a variety of flexible seating options in class to stay engaged in their learning. We already have yoga balls and donut-shaped stability balls in our classroom and this has helped my students come to school excited to learn. My students would benefit from two sets of stools so that they also have the option to stand and work and higher tables. These stools with give my 6th graders the freedom to dangle their legs while learning, which can lead to longer focus on assignments and instruction. The carpet protector is for our classroom carpet, which many of the students enjoy working on. The spray will help prevent serious spills from eating lunch in class or tracking dirt into the classroom from ruining our carpet, allowing our carpet to be used for many years and scholars to come.
