In order to become great readers, students must read all the time. Every day my students read books on their level and of their choosing for a minimum of 30 minutes in class and another 30 minutes at home. This year my fifth graders have grown the most in their love of reading and understanding of texts when they have read and worked with partners or small groups. This project will provide students with books they can read together at school and home which will allow them to have great discussions and practice valuable literacy skills. Students will read all of the time when they are invested in their books. These books were selected by my students, and they are so excited to begin working with these stories. These books will give my students the ability to engage in fruitful and eye-opening reading engagement and discussions that help create life-long readers and lives better lived. Your donation will help my students to grow as readers, communicators, and people. Thank you!
