Magnetic fields are an important topic in our 8th grade science class, however, the subject is abstract and many students have a hard time grasping the concept. The materials requested will help my students create a couple of labs where they can actually get a visual representation of a magnetic field and make what can otherwise be a frustrating topic, a fun, and engaging activity. These labs will also help the students understand this topic much more in depth and will help them do better in the class and on their state testing. In addition, they will be able to carry this knowledge to their high school physics class.
