Students will be given the opportunity to design and construct a variety of series and parallel circuits that are powered by both battery power and electromagnetic power. The electromagnets used will also be designed and constructed out of this basic lab equipment as well as other common lab materials. Without the hands-on learning aspect that these lab materials will provide, students would only experience textbook/computer based electricity and magnetism applications. However, computer simulations and textbook examples can only go so far; being able to apply these concepts to their physical world will make for a much more meaningful learning experience for my students.
