My students have grown up in a digital age where access to technology is a must. There are now resources that are devoted to supporting a 21st century education and I want my students to have access to curriculum that will encourage global competence as well as technology. Giving my students headphones will allow them to access short videos, audio books, podcasts, and digital movie making tools. Digital work will differentiate for my English Language Learners and students with special needs. In addition, it will allow access to curriculum that can reach each student on an individual level, instead of the whole class. In addition, reading books that support Social Studies curriculum is important for students to find value in literacy and make connections to our democratic nation and global issues that arise today.
