The best part of this project is that all of the materials I've requested have multiple "homes" for 100+ students! Everything listed is going directly to the students so that they can learn how to be hands-on, questioning scientists. These materials and equipment will be used from grades 3-8, with particular focus on our 3rd-5th grade Science Olympiad team. Our Science Olympiad team is competing to put their STEM knowledge in action. They'll use this equipment to become better scientists, engineers, and critical thinkers. Our hope is that this competition, and the opportunity to get out of their seats and get real hands-on experience will foster a passion for STEM within our students. The team is competing for the first year at our school, and we're starting with absolutely no equipment. These materials will help the students be competitive; they'll learn week-by-week over the course of 7 months how to properly use this equipment, how to ask questions, and how to scientifically answer those questions. I can't thank you enough for helping these students succeed!!
