How do I access tutoring online? How do I practice? How do I take notes? How do I begin to organize? These are some of the examples of how students who don't have laptops or even computers at home, suffer. There is a direct correlation between progress (how much does a student improve from his lowest score forward) and having access to a computer. This year I have 4 students who went from failing to A- thanks to having access to taking notes on a laptop as their main issue was spacial organization. This is not an opportunity I can offer other students who have the same need but no resources to afford one. It's tragic that a simple laptop could to help to this extent but I see every day. We need Chromebooks to solve this problem. Teaching Spanish, I would like to open up the world to my students to let them see that there are people attached to the language, but this is difficult when you have limited access to online resources as a group. In addition, I post videos of the most difficult grammar to ensure that all students have access on demand but this may not be accessible to all of my students.
