As the students and I settle in to a year of fun and learning, we need books that will keep us engaged, entertained, and wanting to read more and more as the weeks go by! Practice Makes Perfect! By reading, and re-reading old classics, my students are able to practice basic skills such as: book handling (turning from one page to another), pointing to each word as we read, using pictures to help us decode words we are unsure of and most importantly (and of course, the most fun) reading with EXPRESSION! Students gain the confidence to read by themselves and with others by practicing these old classics day in and day out. This sets the foundation for an engaging and exciting year of learning!
