I have awesome students! We are a life skills classroom that love to explore curriculum and apply it to real life: from vowel rules (that Bossy R thinks he's a pirate), jumping math (adding and subtracting on our floor number line), recreating our community on the floor (with some strange looking trees from paper towel rolls), to exploring all those wonderfully interesting facets of science : weather, science tools, the 5 senses (look out for bag #1 when experimenting smells- it's always an onion!), planting our box garden in the spring, and creating crafts from Johnny Appleseed, pumpkin patch, "The Little Red Hen" and we could go on for a very long time! We are a Title I school with free breakfast and lunch. I'm so grateful for that. Seventy percent of my children are autistic. We are learning about Stellaluna now. She doesn't like to eat insects. Hmm, we'll make a special treat. "Ants on a Log!
