Halloween has officially been renamed Halloread. I have planned a spooky day of reading on Halloween and would like for each student to be able to take home a book to begin or add to their home library. The day begins as students walk into their classroom, transformed into a haunted dining room, complete with skull head centerpieces, spider webbed walls, scary music, and "blood" drenched candles. Then, the fun begins. Students will read along as the audiobook plays in the background, picturing the scenes as they play through the speakers. Even the students who are not able to read advanced books will be able to follow along with the audiobook. Students will then begin writing their own scary story as we transition into our Writing time. To continue their reading adventure,students will be able to take home a copy of the book from the Goosebumps series, "Welcome to Camp Slither."
