Our classroom full of 25 voracious readers is limited in our reading resources. The class has asked for books, in particular chapter books, that are in a series. Many of our well loved books have been read to exhaustion and our collection is not substantial. Our guided reading and independent reading time will be greatly enhanced by the influx of new and exciting reading materials that the students have specifically requested. Reading and exploring language is an integral part of character development and reaching our grade level literacy goals. The high interest chapter book series that the class has requested will keep them motivated to meet our daily classroom reading goals and their individual reading goals. The guided reading books are aligned with our literacy and science standards and will help be the bridge from learning how to read to learning to love to read.
