These high interest reading materials will provide my first grade students with grade level appropriate reading materials for independent reading time. My students participate in daily reading activities and each student has a book box filled with "just right books". The students are instructed on how to choose a "just right book" for themselves. These "just right books" are not too hard and not too easy, but just right for each student. During independent reading time the students need high interest, just right books to continue to grow as independent readers. They need a variety of books to keep in their book box which helps them build their reading stamina and keeps their interest.
