My students are creative, funny and hungry for opportunities to use their imagination and brains. Our school would be considered low income and the after school program services over 100 students from 3:15 - 6:00. Many parents work hard but have trouble making ends meet. Our program helps with homework and offers enrichment classes. This news program would be one of the enrichment classes offered to grades 1-5. Our students are digital natives but need the opportunity to test those skills in real world situations. As our goal is to get them ready for college and careers, creating a news program weekly would help achieve that goal.
