My students get frustrated in art when they cannot make their drawing or painting look the way they pictured in their head. Clay can be a very forgiving medium, because of this when a student’s project isn’t going the way they want it can be more easily changed. For some student’s the clays malleability allows them to bring their creations to life in a less stressful manor. Clay is a wonderful medium that should be experienced by all students. Because creating with clay is so different from drawing and painting it allows students who might not be as skilled with other mediums to realize that they too are great artists capable of creating awesome works of art. Clay is also a great tool for building motor skills and problem solving.
