Our third grade classroom is a diverse group of students who all learn in various manners. We have students who are very quick learners and grasp concepts quickly. Others are high repetition learners and need additional support understanding what we are learning. One area they all share is learning visually. Using our document camera speeds up the process of lesson explanation and gives my students the ability to "see" what we are discussing, thus giving clarification to our lessons. We use a document camera approximately 50% of the time because it "shows" what we are learning and it speeds the process of lesson explanation which gives us more time for the other important subjects we are studying. Our document camera has met it demise and we desperately need a replacement. Being able to replace our valuable tool will give my students continued opportunities to streamline their learning process by "seeing" instruction that is being given and save us precious classroom time with the continued implementation of this amazing technology.
