My goal in reading as a classroom teacher is to support my students reading interests. When kids enjoy what they're reading, progress always follows suit. With almost half of my students reading below grade level, it is imperative to provide books that interest them and are an appropriate reading level in order for them to close learning gaps. The biggest challenge I face is keeping enough books on the shelf to interest and motivate my students to read independently. The books I have chosen span across three grade levels of reading to support the needs of my students. They also include series my students love, but are not on the library shelves. In order to continue to build a love for reading, please help my class fill our shelves!
