My students come into class everyday and practice their rhythms. They are learning how to read music so that I can just give them sheet music and they just play it - instead of having to teach them every single measure by rote. Right now, my students either bang on their desks or share the 5 drums that we own. Banging on desks is not the same as tapping a drum but, even if we owned more drums, I don't think that we would use them for the entire period because they are so loud. We would use these drum pads everyday for the first 20 minutes of class to do exercises before learning new music for the day.
