Your generous donation will give my students the opportunity to see the positive impact African American role models have made in society. These heroes will serve to inspire them. Too often, children who are African American are not enriched with literature that has main characters that are African American. Students need to see success achieved by people who look like they do in order to start believing that they can achieve as well. To be culturally responsible, I need to share stories with students that they can relate to on the most basic level. Any single book on this list will make a difference in my students' lives. Your support will earn our unending appreciation.

About my class
