In an ever changing world full of technology, integration of technology into the history curriculum is imperative. History was once about textbooks and lectures, but one of the goals of our department is to encourage student exploration through technology. Many historical sources are accessible to students through the use of technology. The internet is a vast library of resources and information that will enable students to experience history rather than memorize it. With the use of Chromebooks, I will be able to help my students analyze evidence and make inferences about history, compare and evaluate historical interpretations, draw from multiple perspectives, and explain historical events. Chromebooks will not only allow student exploration and research but will enable students to meet the writing standards for literacy in history by providing a means at school to complete assessments of the skill sets and content they have learned. Technology will enhance my instruction, make assessment easier, and enable a larger scope of content learning for the students.
