Imagine these students when they see their supplies ready to go on their first day. They'll see we are ready to integrate art into our learning. They'll find books about topics they're interested in on the shelves. Math games and tools to help their number sense will be ready to go. Their artwork will be a central part of the classroom walls, but they won't walk into a bare room. They'll see that we are there for them. Feeling comfortable and safe in their organized and prepared classroom, knowing their teacher cares for them will help them learn from those first days. Families will be able to focus on other needs when we have what they need already in the classroom. Many of my students will be entering school as a second grader after leaving in early spring of Kindergarten. They are eager to return and I'm eager to welcome them back -- with a space that is stocked, organized, and clearly labeled.
