Currently in my classroom, students sit in standard chairs and at standard tables. Last year, one of my students asked why don't we have desks in rows like other classrooms. It was then that I decided my classroom needed an environmental makeover. I believe that if I can offer a variety of flexible seating choices where students can have sensory integration and movement, students will be even more excited about their instruction. For some students, school is the only opportunity they have to make choices. The seating choice would also assist students in learning social skills and give then an opportunity to partner with different peers throughout the day.
