We have a new Driver Education Program at our high school and all funds for the program come exclusively from student tuition. There are no school funds used for this program, so there are not enough extra funds to purchase these important tools to simulate being impaired in a controlled setting. I have used these goggles in other classes. They are a very good tool to simulate an impaired state to a student so that they can equate the difficulty they have with the goggles on, to how it might be if they tried to drive in the same condition. This experience will hopefully make a lifelong impact on them to keep them from making a tragic error in judgement and decide to drive while impaired.
