Instead of using a textbook as a guide, we are using two software programs for our science classes this year. We still use non-fiction reading and excerpts from articles to support our instruction. Our students will enjoy reading graphic novels from the Max Axiom series. A Crash Course in Forces and Motion with Max Axiom, Super Scientist will gain their attention and help them to learn what they are expected to know about potential and kinetic energy. These books have high-energy characters and a story that will keep the attention of all our students. The important vocabulary is emphasized in the text, but the books also feature a glossary and index, much like a textbook.
