My students are energetic, inquisitive, and ready to learn! I teach 144 pre-k students, a total of 8 classes. My students love my class because they are free to move their bodies and burn off some of their abundant energy. The classes I teach are full of students from diverse cultural backgrounds, English Language Learners, and students with varying gross motor abilities. The common thread among all of my students is that they all respond to movement. In my class, students are able to learn how to coordinate and control their small and large muscles. They get to explore a multitude of gross motor movements including marching, hopping, skipping, and running. Students practice throwing and catching balls, as well as steering and pedaling the tricycle. There are no limits to how they can move, as long as they are moving safely.
