These materials will add color and excitement to our class projects and assignments. My students enjoy having many colors to use for their art, and having them available, organized, and just for them will help them be excited about learning! During the year, they are engaged with many subjects and too little time. Adding art to their day helps them stay focused and motivated. Since art reaches many cultures and is not defined to just one form, it is amazing to be able to teach my students to express themselves through art. I would be forever thankful and grateful for contributions towards this project! My students will learn that although our area is very limited with funds, there are many people out there who are willing to provide these much-needed materials for amazing students like them. The pastel colors as well as the people colors will help them have broader choices of colors to use when creating their amazing drawings! The paints and painter’s pallete will help them learn about different ways to mix colors and go beyond the simple colors available in a crayon box, and it will open their eyes to the possibility of adding their very own special touch to each piece of artwork. Also, because organization skills are very important for first graders to learn, a communication center would be an amazing addition to their day, by allowing them the extra space to organize their art, projects, and other work they take home every day. Further, since I am trying to teach them to print neatly and be able to erase mistakes and try again, mechanical erasers will help them by providing them the opportunity to edit their mistakes! Finally, a vast array of colors, paper, and other art materials will show them that art’s fun!
