We are working on the fundamentals of reading by utilizing the Literacy by 3 model, which follows along the Daily 5 Literacy Block- Read to Someone, Read to Self, Word Work, Work on Writing and Listen to Reading. While most of our stations for reading are complete, I would love for all students to visit the Listen to Reading station in conjunction with technology, as I believe technology is a 21st century skill that is imperative for children to grasp. Along with building reading fluency, listening to reading also opens doors for students such as mine to experience wonders they may never get to otherwise. By combining with technology, I would be able to provide more opportunities through websites such as Tumblebooks and Starfall.
