Students recently completed baseline and interest-related surveys that have assisted in our identifying the type of books they would enjoy reading. We also discuss/review how to choose "Good Fit" books. During these most unprecedented times, the range of needs and interests has become broad. With these resource materials, Students will choose books of high interest and accessible to our wide range of conditions. These books were chosen to meet the specific needs of my students and are intended to enhance the print-rich classroom that I strive to create. My classroom and library is a place that my students can relax, explore and develop an enjoyment for the act of reading. I read aloud to them, and they complete reading-related activities here. This project will enable them to access reading materials that support their development and mastery of reading independently With these new books, my students will be able to choose from variety of books that will allow them to read independently at their personalized level. They will also be able to select books that interest them. The best way to increase reading ability is to read more, and these books will help my students grow more robust reading habits. With guidance and support for choosing high interest and accessible texts, my students can experience success, which will support fostering an independent, life-long interest and habit for reading for enjoyment!
